Sofia was born on a very special day! It was winter solstice and she made it just in time to be a winter baby (as well as a Capricorn) on December 21st at 23:19 hs (1 h 11m after the solstice). It was a cesarean birth and it was performed by Dr. Julie Huh. I was so happy she came late at night to do the surgery!
As soon as Sofia was born the nurses took her to the side for all the tests and measurements. It was there too that Blagoja cut the umbilical cord. It was weird to think that we were now separated after being connected for 9 months!
Sofia's measurements were:
6 lb 2 oz / 2,780 kg
18 3/4 in / 49 cm
We only made it to the postpartum room 256 at 3 AM so we were all pretty tired. Nonetheless, we were all feeling that it was a great beginning to our new family adventure!
